How to Set & Get your Goals
10 questions to ask yourself when setting your goals.
When I trained to become a personal trainer, back then we set goals using SMART. You may have come across it Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time Frame. Although this is a useful place to start, psychology shows it doesn’t really go deep enough, and those who are successful in achieving their goals, go a bit deeper when setting their goals. Try these 10 questions instead.
Grab a pen & paper, and work your way through the following key questions for every goal, in order to clearly set and successfully get your goals:
1) Write out your goals – Make your goals huge, big, enormous, phenomenal. Write goals in present tense & paint a picture
2) Why do you want this goal?
3) Who will benefit from you achieving that goal?
4) Your discipline, how many hours will you spend?
5) What kind of confidence will you need to achieve that goal. What beliefs will you need?
6) You are worthy. Why are you worth it. What makes you worth it. Why do you deserve to achieve this goal?
7) Act as if your goal has already happened. Act, talk, think, speak it as if it’s already happened.
8) Write down what risks you’re going to take
9) Plan it, want it, write it, work on it. Know you’re worth it, & see it as if it’s already happening. What are the steps, actions you need to take to achieve your goal?
10) Who do you need to be?
